Marine Commissioning

This last week Jake Tyra had his officer commissioning into the Marine Corp. I had the honor of photographing this admirable achievement for his family as he received his ranks of 2nd Lieutenant. The whole family was involved in presenting his bars, hat, and saber. Such an incredible moment for him and his family. You can see how proud his family is of his accomplishments, and rightly so.

Jake's niece, sweet Annabella, kept her hand on her heart during the National Anthem. Thankfully, I was able to catch a quick pic of it as she peeked around her grandma to see me.

After his oath, his Mom and Dad proudly presented him with his rank bars.

Next, big brother Jeremy presented and aligned his uniform hat and sister-in-law Daria, who is in the Navy, had the privilege to give Jake his first solute.

And last but surely not least, big sister Heather helped present his saber.

What a great family!

And a really fun group willing to play along. :)

Some of Jake's commanding officers came out to the after party to help celebrate. Congratulations Jake!

Karlee & Matt - Twitterpatted

Karlee & Matt are completely adorable together. They are planning to be married (though not yet completely official with the ring and everything. Hint-Hint-Matt) and wanted to have some wonderful pictures together. Matt's work may be transferring him soon to an out of state location so they wanted to have the pictures taken here before life takes them for a crazy, excited, wonderful, unexpected ride in the months to come. And they brought along their baby girl Kahlua to have in the photos as well.

Let's start it off with their sweet girl. Quite possibly the best dog I have ever photographed.

It was a gorgeous morning and I could not have asked for better light. Plus, like I said, they are adorable together. How you you not love these?

Karlee's amazing eyes! Could seriously photograph her all day. :)
